DAVID GONZALEZ: More and more non-alcoholic drinks have started showing up in the places that we shop, and more consumers are taking a more mindful approach to consumption. The growth and popularity of THC beverages is projected to grow significantly over the next few years.
LARS MILLER: So what are THC beverages? There are a wide array of styles from sparkling water and seltzers to mocktails to nitro cold brew, or even ice tea. Some drinks use all natural ingredients and organic, naturally extracted hemp emulsion for the most health conscience of consumers. A great example of this is this sessionable 5mg gentle potency sparkling fruit beverage by Pharos Premium.
GONZALEZ: THC beverages like Pharos are infused with an emulsion of Delta-9 THC, which is derived from hemp, not from marijuana. Hemp is federally legal under the 2018 Farm Bill, and a recent breakthrough in technology has allowed for specific chemicals in the hemp plant to be isolated and even dissolved to stay suspended in a liquid form.
MILLER: Taking that step further, the Pharos beverages are independently LAP-certified and labeled according to ASTM International, a global organization that provides standards and guidelines for beverages and many other industries. Similar to alcohol, THC beverages are only sold to those who are 21 years and older.
GONZALEZ: The effects of consuming a THC beverage vary based on your tolerance and body composition. Generally, we think of one 5mg beverage as roughly equivalent to a light beer. You consume more than one in a sitting, it will have an cumulative effect. So for example, enjoying two 5mg beverages or 10mg is like drinking two light beers.
MILLER: Inclusion is a big part of why we believe so heavily in THC beverages. Since the dawn of man, we've been raising a glass in a social setting, and with more consumers embracing dry or high months of the year, THC beverages are helping bring us all together while providing a calmer, healthier buzz.
GONZALEZ: THC beverages are different from edibles in that they get quickly into the body, bypassing the stomach, bypassing a liver, leading to a faster onset compared to gummies which have to be ingested and digested.
MILLER: You'll feel slightly elevated after just about 10 minutes, and the feeling of calm euphoria will last one to two hours, depending on factors such as how much you have eaten, as well as if you've consumed alcohol or other forms of THC.
GONZALEZ: This is an inclusive beverage for all. If you don't drink, if you're looking to cut down on alcohol or you just want to explore a new way to relax, THC beverages like Pharos Premium are a great option. Normalization of THC beverages is here. There's no need to encounter the taboo of lighting one up. Just pop open a can and enjoy.

Botanically hemp and cannabis (or marijuana) are the same thing.[1] They are both Cannabis sativa L. Historically, hemp has been used to describe cannabis when it is used for non-psychoactive consumption, or industrial uses such as rope, insulation, or clothing. Furthermore, overtime, unique genetics have been developed so that certain cannabis strains are more likely to produce cannabis that is good for hemp. Hemp, ultimately however, is a legal distinction.
In 2018, the United States Congress via the Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018 (the “2018 Farm Bill”) defined hemp as “the plant Cannabis sativa L., and any part of that plant…and all derivatives, extracts…with a delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol [Delta-9 THC] concentration of not more than 0.3 percent on a dry weight basis.”[2]
This means hemp, legally, is cannabis that has less than 0.3% Delta-9 THC concentration on a dry weight basis. So long as the cannabis plant, or any cannabis product, has less than 0.3% Delta-9 THC it is hemp.
You can review the concentration of Delta-9 THC in Pharos products by reading the Certificate of Analysis for each product. The concentration is listed as a percent in a box near the center of the page labeled “Δ9 THC.”

If this is your first time consuming a cannabis beverage, we strongly recommend going slow. Start with one and drink it slowly. After an hour, you can consume more with a better understanding of how you are impacted by these beverages.
Personally, we love to use half a can as part of a cocktail. The lower strength creates a lighter experience and is perfect for sharing the other half with a special someone.
Once you are used to consuming Pharos beverages, it can be a great, hangover free, replacement for your evening glass of wine, or social drinking with friends.

Pharos products contain Delta-9 THC, the primary psychoactive cannabinoid. This means your experience consuming Pharos will be the same as consuming other cannabis products, with a few important differences:
On-set of effects
Unlike gummies which can take an hour to feel the effects, Pharos beverages will have an onset of effects within 15-20 minutes. This gives you the ability to better control your experience.
Length of experience
You will likely feel the effect of Pharos beverages for 2-3 hours maximum. Again, unlike gummies which can take 5-6 hours to wear-off, Pharos gives you better control over how long your experience will last.
Odor and smell
Unlike consuming flower, or raw cannabis, there is no odor or smell with Pharos products. The only taste is the refreshing fruit flavor, and there is no unpleasant after taste.

Federally, so long as the product contains less than 0.3% Delta-9 THC concentration by dry weight, it is legal. However, many states have taken steps to further limit and regulate the amount of Delta-9 THC permitted in a hemp product. This means sales of Pharos products may be prohibited in some jurisdictions by State law. Please review the laws in your jurisdiction if you are unsure. Also, please feel free to reach out to us if you have specific questions regarding legality in your jurisdiction.
